Spring is almost here again and we are busy planning and planting in anticipation of our 2012 season! If you happen to drive by the market on Saturday mornings you will likely find Ralph Jones out there braving our mild (so far) winter selling his farm fresh eggs, jams and jellies and maybe even some sweet treats! See y’all soon!
Update: 2nd Saturday and 4th Saturday Craft Fair events
To all those who attended the July 9th Customer Appreciation event, we thank you!
It was quite a day with multiple produce vendors, several vendors with farm fresh eggs, local honey, local pastured USDA certified pork, goat milk soap and a complimentary lunch for our customers.
We saw many of our regular customers as well as quite a few new ones. The word is really getting out!
July 9th also happened to be a 2nd Saturday for crafts. We were very impressed with the wonderful hand-made items for sale including gorgeous woodworking, jewelery, artwork, homemade quilts and other unique and beautiful items.
Because of the success of our 2nd Saturday, our committee has decided to add an additional craft day to the regular market by including a 4th Saturday as a designated craft day. Therefore, you will now be able to find good quality hand-made items at the market two Saturdays a month.
See you there!
Customer appreciation day July 9th
Join the farmers at the market for customer appreciation day!
The market will be open during its regular hours (8 am until produce is sold out) in addition to complimentary hot dogs, drinks and chips to celebrate our customers!
Also keep in mind that from July 2nd until the 9th it is craft week, so we hope to have a great turn out.
See you there!
June craft week: Monday June 6th to Saturday June 11th
Come on down to the market to find wonderful hand-made local crafts for the entire second week of June.
See you there!
Arts and Crafts – the second week of every month
Starting in May the second week of each month, the Fairview Farmers Market will also feature home-made arts and crafts in addition to produce sales. To clarify, arts and crafts will be available for sale throughout the entire week, not just on Saturday.
If you have home-made arts and crafts and you are interested in selling please contact Ralph Jones, Market Manager at (615) 604-0871.
Protected: May 5, 2011 Fairview Farmers Market meeting minutes
Welcome to the Fairview Farmers Market web-site!
The Market is located at 2714 Fairview Blvd in Fairview, Tennessee 37062.
Our growing season in Middle Tennessee typically starts in May and continues through October. Most farmers gather produce for sale on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday starting from 8:00 a.m. until our produce is sold out. However, we have farmers that sell on other days and times so keep a look-out when you drive by the Recreation Center!
For the 2011 growing season, we are looking forward to seeing friends and customers from last year as well as meeting new friends and customers this year, we look forward to growing with our community every year!
We will be updating our site often with information regarding produce in season, growing tips, recipes and farmer profiles. Please check back often!
This market was started as a grassroots effort by Ralph Jones, whose vision is tempered by years of growing and market experience. All farmers that sell at the market must complete an application and verify that all items sold are locally grown and produced.
If you are interested in contacting Ralph to talk about selling at the Fairview Farmers Market please feel free to call him directly at (615) 604-0871
